A few outfit posts...

Love this escapada dress. So easy to wear, and I just love this cornflower blue color. This is from a few weeks ago, with my most favorite cognac frye boots.

I AM a sucker for plaid vests...This one below is a prototype, not out yet, but I have been wearing it tons. So cute right? (Sidney thought she needed to jump in this pic ;)

dreaming of red

If I could wear this shade of red, I would own this. How perfect for the holidays! And how cute would this be on an outdoor Christmas card photo! Drooling...

Birds of a feather

A few weeks late posting, but I am totally gaga for the new Pottery Barn dishware. My husband and I are both bird hunters, and a lot of our house is rustic, so when I saw these in the PB catalog, I knew they were going to top my Christmas list for this year.

This set of 4 plates

combined with the larger feather plate

and voila....this looks like it was made for my home.

I also am getting the platter...because you know someday down the road, when this is not available anymore, I will wish I had it....

I am sure these are holiday / seasonal PB, but these are sure to be year round in the Peters house!

Barbour, cute to boot

I just got back from a trip to Europe and discovered the BEST Barbour boots.  You all know I am a fan, and it is always fun to see what other countries carry/what may not be available in the U.S.

I saw these, and bought them on site.  SO Cute....

here they are in action, in a pub, obviously ;)

I also thought these were super cute, but I am already stocked up on knee high boots for the season...

And I tried these on, and they will DEFINITELY be the chelsea boot addition to my closet.

Winter white dresses

I have a love of winter white for the upcoming time of year.....specifically winter white dresses. Here are a few of my favorite pics....

I love the detail and bell sleeve of this one (here).

I have this lole dress. It's the best, it's literally sweatshirt material. Perfect for travel.

This banana one, love the texture (here)...

Travel...

In anticipation of some fun upcoming travel, I thought I would post my go to travel outfit.  I have this lole dress (this pic from zappos does not do it justice. I wear with thick tights or leggings). It is amazing.  A scarf for me is a must....I am always freezing.  I always wear my "biggest" shoes as well...

And that Filson tote, is like mary poppins bag. It is amazing and never full!Travel

Fringe

I saw this bag on CWonder's instgram a few weeks ago (see pic here), and it stopped me in my tracks.
I would not have necessarily stopped for this bag on their website (here)...but so cute when shown in use!
It may be the next addition to my purse problem....

Weekend pick

So you all know my love of fashion camo (worn correctly, of course...I only ever wear once piece at a time), and I have loved this J.crew factory one for months.  Then we got this Beretta one in at the store, and I couldn't resist it.  The cut and length of this one, is perfect...as you would expect from Italian clothes.

J.Crew version (here)

Whats about boots

This is a combo boot post/what I have been wearing lately.  Fall is in the air, and I am noticing a lot more gray and black popping back into my routines.

I am a boot girl, and mostly a riding boot girl, (though I haven't met a boot I don't like), and my best friend asked my opinion on how to wear ankle boots.  Here are a couple of my favorite ways to wear ankle booties....for normal day to day use/normal people wear :)

1.  With leggings/dress....for me this is ALL dependent on the length of your hem and the height of the boot.  There needs to be enough leg showing so that you're legs don't look stumpy. (says the girl with the most athletic legs...hard to do. ) You can also wear boots that dip down in the center, that helps elongate the legs.

I included a second shot below  because I found these Rag and Bone booties at TJ Maxx and I have been stewing over whether I should keep them or not. Rag and Bone. At TJ Maxx...you heard that right. I haven't worn yet because I am still debating

Same idea....

***can we talk about how much I love this dress? It is mudpie...and has faux leather accents.  Seriously, love it. Even adam approved.
These are solid black suede booties.

2.  With Jeans.  I prefer tight cropped/ankle length jeans.  I typically roll mine...small rolls or big single fold.  If they are tight enough down the ankle and your boot opening is big enough, I sometimes wear jeans inside.  But not if it looks awkward (ie, if your jeans are really long and you feel like you have too much material to deal with, or if they aren't fitted enough around the ankle). I also tend to wear boots with a bigger opening if I'm tucking mine in.

Some brown lucky boots...

Lastly I had to throw in this bracelet Adam got me. Hello love! It has a huge toggle on the other side too. LOVE. Best.Husband.Ever.

Travel

Exciting travel news for the Peters....I was invited to hunt in Scotland in less than a month! Definitely a bucket list trip, and even better is Adam is coming along and we are making a vacation out of it!

Driven grouse hunting is very traditional English style hunting. Imagine a barbour ad, that is pretty much how you dress. Lots of tweed, ties, and scarves.
Sounds right up my alley right? Hunting in fabulous clothes? Sign.me.up.
So many pictures to follow!

Talk about a packing challenge...traditional English style hunting with a vaca tagged on after! I am already brainstorming.  The only thing I am positive is that this coat (here, on sale!) is coming with me! Waxed cotton is a total must, there is a reason why the best waxed fabrics come from England....

(I do not know why they show it belted, I think it is MUCH cuter without the belt. It is easily removable (with no exposed beltloops!))

Have had a few blog requests lately....I am so behind, but coming up soon.
1. How to wear ankle booties....not picks, but literally, how real people can wear them...
2. Sporting pants.....there are plenty of waspy events that require non jean, non cord, non 5 pocket bottoms. Do any exist that don't look old and unflattering? I am researching :)

Black+fur love

As you most likely know, I am a huge Barbour fan. I just love their outerwear, but I stumbled across this sweater/coat recently.  Goodness, this has my name all over it!

How cute with this be with these Frye boots and skinny jeans!

I love this, because it is easy, looks put together, and I am positive would be amazingly comfortable!

Fun times lately...

End of summer/early fall is my most favorite time of year.  The mornings and nights are cool and the high of the day is not too hot.
Here are a few snapshots of life lately...

Perfect night

Have you seen a preppier crowd?

In the dove field with my oldest hunting buddy :)

(and ps...this happened. So excited to shoot my new gun, I left my boots in the office when I left work. oops.)

Clay target practice, in lilly obviously.

Perfect evening...

3 and counting

Today is my husband and my three year anniversary. Hard to believe it was 3 years ago we were in Sun Valley....
If I could relive the day, I would not change one thing.  A perfect day in one of my most favorite towns in America, with my family and friends.

Sun Valley Magazine did a blog post on our wedding (here).
